Monocle Weddings

When I gained a more active role with Monocle, it became evident that we needed a distinct visual identity that would not only distinguish us from competitors but also resonate with a broader audience. Monocle, a brand with a storied history spanning two continents, exudes a sense of prestige that deserves a visual representation in line with its legacy.
Given that our reputation had primarily been built through word-of-mouth, a testament to the strength of a well-established small business, it was crucial to breathe new life into our online presence. I recognized the importance of preserving brand recognition cultivated over time, so I retained key elements from the original brand identity.
However, I sought to refine the English origin reference, aiming for a more subtle portrayal. By retaining the original colors inspired by the English flag and retaining the 'Monocle' theme, I crafted a visual identity that echoed the timeless sophistication often associated with old English culture.
Given that Monocle is a photography company, it was only fitting to incorporate a camera element into our brand identity, allowing us to authentically represent our core focus. The juxtaposition of the camera and the monocle-inspired lens creates a unifying symbol, symbolizing the convergence of individuality and clarity, and encapsulating the essence of our brand.

I assume a substantial role in spearheading our social media presence, utilizing tools such as Tailwind and various marketing analytics to monitor and enhance website traffic. By staying attuned to online trends and actively curating content for our social media platforms, I've been instrumental in reshaping our online presence and crafting a distinctive brand voice for Monocle.
As a testament to these efforts, our Instagram traffic has experienced an impressive surge, demonstrating a remarkable increase of 189% since I assumed responsibility for the page.

My primary role at Monocle remains as a photographer, & I've included a selection of my work on this page.

My proficiency in editing has been a defining aspect of my work since my high school years. In contrast to my colleague Trevor, I possess a deep affection for the art of editing and frequently transform images into what he playfully refers to as 'digital art.' My journey with image editing began during my childhood, with my earliest ventures into Photoshop dating back to well before 2009.
Today, I leverage this extensive skill set in various capacities, including refining headshots in my news-oriented role and infusing creative elements into wedding imagery, showcasing the versatility of my editing capabilities.
Monocle Online
Our social media strategy is a “Slow Burn” approach to finding unique viewers interested in our services. We focus on locations & elements our clients are likely to be researching so that we can be at the front of their minds before they even start to consider photography for their events.

Monocle Brand
I updated the Monocle brand to better fit the services provided by our team. Our rich history tracking back to Trevor’s roots in Sheffield is expansive. Our approach to weddings is to provide services with a strong sense of professionalism. These themes are well emphasized by the symbolism in our name which I choose to use as a focus for the logo/brand.
